Job Position in A*Star - Procurement Executive (Biomedical)
Fr Dr Lim's friend: My department is recruiting. Do forward it to anyone with a biomedical education/experience and is keen to work in A*Star. The job position will require some technical knowledge but will not be lab based. Rather, lots of interacting with suppliers and internal stake holders is involved; so soft skills and organisational ability are a must. Attached is the job description. The Biopolis Shared Facilities (BSF) is a state of the art facility, set up to serve the combined and aggregated requirements of the Research Institutes and Biopharmaceutical community in Biopolis.
PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE (BIOMEDICAL)
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will be given the responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and contracting all forms of biomedical supply materials in Biopolis. You role would include analyzing spend patterns, price benchmarking, supplier assessments and business process improvement. Additionally, you will need to work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to set up a robust procurement system to meet the needs of the Biopolis community.
As this is a pioneering position, tremendous opportunities and challenges await. Candidates must possess a strategic mindset, strong analytical ability and display a track record in negotiation, in order to achieve central procurement and strategic sourcing objectives.
Minimum Diploma preferably in Life Sciences/Biomedical related fields
2 years of relevant experience in either (i) Biomedical Industry or (ii) Purchasing
· Knowledge of supply chain principles in purchasing and planning will be a plus
Strong appreciation of systems and processes
Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of SAP modules (MM & SD) would be an advantage
